The “A” in MAPS represents Assessments. In this episode we do a quick review of Motivation, as covered in the first two episodes of the MAPS Series and discuss how motivation and assessments go hand-in-hand. To motivate ourselves to take action to protect our brains, we need to understand what strengthens and protects them as well as what puts them at risk. 

In this episode we focus on assessing eight behavioral areas have been shown to have a profound influence on plastic modifications to our brains. We discuss a risk-management approach to brain health that involves identifying then modifying risk factors. Using the same approach, we identify behavioral factors that make our brains stronger, more resilient and more resistant to disease and develop plans to integrate them into our lifestyles.
