Developing new and more efficient brain health habits and routines requires a fair amount of creative thinking. Fortunately, all human beings are hard-wired to think creatively. But, just because we have the capacity to think creatively doesn’t mean that we know how to use those skills or that we have developed our creative thinking skills to any level of proficiency.

In this episode we discuss the nature of creative. We define creativity and discuss how it operates. Creativity can be studied from three perspectives: People, Product and Process. What makes certain people more creative than others? What makes one product or idea more creative than another? And, finally, what do creative people actually do when they are producing creative product? It is this third perspective – the creative process – that we find most useful when it comes to practical advice about ramping up our own creative output.

The meat of this episode is the introduction of a MINDRAMP tool, The CreativeCycle,ã  that details the normal pattern and sequence of cognitive activities that creative people use when they are producing ideas and products that are both novel and useful.
