Marilyn Olsen is the innovative Executive Director of Villages Oklahoma City (VOKC). She is redefining villages and developing new and innovative ways to serve older adults and to promote positive approaches to the aging process.

In this podcast interview, Marilyn explains how she got involved in the Village Movement and how her approach in OKC differs from the standard. She describes two signature programs that are foundational to VOKC.

One foundational program is the GIFT program – Gathering Information for Transitions. Members who take the GIFT workshop develop a notebook that gathers all pertinent information that might be needed in times of major , late-life transitions.  It is the information you will need when you may be incapable of thinking straight.

The second major program is an ongoing brain health initiative that includes classes and workshops to help members understand how to minimize their risks for cognitive decline and dementia.

Learn more about Marilyn’s positive and optimistic approach to Qualongevity – living long and living well.
